Who does not know about the Bokrijk Open Air Museum? Here you can experience the past as if you were in it yourself! Explore over hundred buildings that have been brilliantly restored to their original condition. Talented actors truly bring this fascinating spot in Limburg to life. See how the priest prepares a sermon and salute the village constable while the farmer and the farmer's wife warm themselves at the open fire.

You also see a large number of craftsmen at their work: a potter, a blacksmith, a tanner… and you can even set to work yourself during one of the many workshops.

Every year a number of museum events are held in Bokrijk. An event from the past is then acted out in full on stage. An impressive experience for young and old alike!

In 2014 the Open Air Museum was awarded a permanent exhibition. Would you like to relive the 60s? Then visit the exhibition entitled ‘The Sixties’. You will receive a passport from the 1960s and in so doing will take on the virtual identity of an insurance agent, stewardess, guest worker … from this period.
