COVID measures

Some precautions...

Dear visitor, we are happy that you’ve chosen Genk as the location for your association, company or family event. We would like to go over some measures that you should observe during your visit:

  • If you’re ill (cold, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, mild cough, body temperature up to 38°C), if you live with people who have COVID-19 or if you’re displaying characteristic symptoms such as fever (38°C and up) or shortness of breath – then please stay at home.
  • During your visit, wearing a face mask is mandatory. You must bring these yourself. If you’re wearing a disposable mask, after the tour please throw it in the bin yourself.
  • You must disinfect your hands before and after the tour.
  • Payment for the tour is always and only by invoice. Cash payments are not accepted.
  • Do not exceed the maximum number of participants per guide! Additional participants will be refused. For security reasons, we have to be strict about this.

DURING THE VISIT

  • Respect the minimum social distance of 1.5 m between persons.
  • If the tour takes place inside a building, the guide will be the only person to open and close the doors.

How many can we be on our day trip?

Advice from Tourism Flanders

Organised cultural activities may take place, if someone is in charge and the group is no larger than 50 people – on the condition that safe distances are respected. However, it will be impossible in practice for visitors to move through enclosed spaces (whether or not public) while respecting the required distances, since this would require an area of at least 4 m2 per person, or 200 m2 for a group of 50 people.

As it is impossible to guarantee compliance with the rules for social distancing at all times during a group tour, it is recommended, in the spirit of the decision by the National Security Council on 23 September 2020, to limit guided activities to a maximum of 20 people (outdoors) and to require that participants and guides wear masks.

Genk activities

The number of participants per guide depends on the activity. Please review the details for each activity for more information.
